Dear lovely fashion people,
Yes, that’s right, it’s back. A celebration of small businesses doing amazing things and an opportunity for you to shop, upcycle, mend, clean and even have your picture taken and nails done in the swankiest of surroundings. All for £15.
Before we get into it, I hosted this fair last year for the first time, and surprised myself when it turned out everyone had a brilliant time. There was glorious vintage to shop, rental rails, some cool upcycling ideas, great conversations, some really cool new people to meet, and then I lay down on a fancy Koko sofa and had a large cocktail. “Will you do it again?” asked Koko. Yes, I said (after the cocktail). So this year it’s back: it’s The Good Fashion Fair, it’s at House of Koko, and it’s on Saturday March 29th. Come down!
House of Koko is an amazing venue if you haven’t been. It’s a private members club, so likely you haven’t, but there are a couple of great restaurants, where you are welcome to book in for lunch, lots of different bars and my favourite bits, the vinyl listening rooms. It’s connected to Koko club where they have a really progressive music policy, and so there’s also lots of interesting musicians wondering around. Come whenever you want on the day, but you will need to book a ticket (link below). There will be two sessions, morning and afternoon, and all guests are welcome to the lunchtime talk where we’ll be discussing "Can Fashion Be a Force for Good?" with special guests.
The £15 ticket includes a drink on the house, and this year we are featuring vintage shopping, fabric painting, sneaker cleaning, an opportunity to have your portrait shot on vintage Rolleiflex cameras, biodegradable nail art, and some beautiful examples of artisanal craftsmanship. So please do come and spend a day with me and some of the innovative ideas in responsible fashion right now. Here’s who’s coming:
Photographer Rahil Ahmed has been building a body of work on secondhand fashion with his beautiful collection of Rolleiflex cameras. Working with stylist Phoebe Campbell, we are so lucky to have both at our Fair to take your picture. Check out their work on Instagram @secondhandspring - I can’t wait for their exhibition. Will your portrait make the final selection?
Born from Portobello market in the 90s, Mikey Caunter’s Peekaboo has become the go to marketplace for premium vintage. From amazing leather jackets to original Ossie Clarke, Mikey is promising to bring his best schizzle.
My favourite charity will be there, with a great rail of high quality clothing, the proceeds of which will all go direct to the service, helping to dress and coach women for job interview. Here’s a thing: after a dressing and coaching with Smart Works volunteer stylists and coaches, 63% go on to get the job. Expect supporter brands like Aligne, Hush, Me + Em, The Fold and Varley.

Nothing is more fashion forward than a great set of nails. But how can you do that whilst avoiding the plastic polluting polishes and acrylics? Answer - Claws, the world's first biodegradable and recyclable nail art kits. In brilliant spring colours and shapes, created, designed and presented by Tiger Lily Taylor.
